William King Concert Classical #34- This is one fine instrument and I have been fortunate to have owned it, sold it, and then to have it offered back to me. Every time that I have sold a William King guitar, I have had seller's remorse, so I jumped on the opportunity to buy this one back and place it in my inventory. Austin, Texas-based luthier William King completed this one in 2005. It is made up with the finest materials. The top is a glowing Swiss Spruce. The back and sides are in Madagascar Rosewood with just beautiful grain to the wood. The fretboard is ebony, the tuners Fustero. It has a bone nut and saddle and an ivory tieblock. It's all just the best materials that can be put into an instrument. All of that quality comes out in excellent tone, projection, and balance when it is played. It's now fifteen years old and the top has opened up and it just sounds great. The scale is 650. I can't say enough good things about it. Buy it and you'll see what i mean. Comes in an iPod case that I bot at the John Williams Music Centre in London. $4,750
Jose Ramirez Model 4E- This guitar is the top of the line of the "E" model range from Ramirez. This instrument, made in 2000, is in excellent condition. I purchased it in Nashville a few years ago from Cotten Music. The specs are: Solid Canadian Cedar top, solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides, finished in lacquer, ebony fretboard atop a Spanish Cedar neck, reinforced with an ebony strip, bone saddle and nut (52mm), rosewood bridge and rosewood-faced headstock, Fustero gold-plated tuners, 650mm scale, made in Spain. If you were to order a custom, luthier-made instrument, these are the kind and quality of materials that you would specify. And you would most likely pay north of $5000 for that custom instrument. Here, you get it all in an instrument made by the world's most respected classical guitar company. At a price that's not too hard to bear. Comes in a black molded case. $2250
Juan Estruch Concert Classical Guitar, Modelo 4 Cadea, Garantia F 666, ano 1976. Made in Barcelona, Spain in the shop of Juan Estruch Pipo, signed by the luthier. Solid mahogany back and sides, solid cedar top. This concert quality instrument is in very good condition. I purchased the guitar from the original owner , who bought it at the E. Ferron Luthier music store in Rouen, France. The store's logo is on the headstock and also on a medallion affixed to the original hardshell case. A pickup was added by the original owner's luthier brother. Plugged in or not, this guitar plays and sounds wonderful. With OHSC, $1650.
John Gaunt Classical Guitar- 1976 I bought this instrument on a trip to England in the Spring of 2010. It is a guitar made by an individual luthier in Maidstone, England, dated 4-3-76, number 3. The top is solid cedar and the back and sides are solid rosewood. The back has a repaired crack, but otherwise the instrument is structurally sound. Plays easily and has great tone and balance. I like finding these jewels and it is so nice to know that someone has taken care of such a fine instrument for now close to thirty five years. Nice engraved tuners. This one comes in a modern Stagg case.
With case $1095
Yamaha CG-180SA The CG-180SA was Yamaha’s top-of-the-line mass produced guitar for the decade of the nineties. This is a beautiful and sonorous instrument. Solid European Spruce top, select Indian Rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and Yamaha's best tuners. Currently strung with Augustine Regals. The headstock sustained some damage, was professionally repaired, and is slightly noticeable on the back of the neck up near the headstock, opposite the nut. $795 with it’s original brown hardshell case.
Alvarez Yairi CY-118- I sold this guitar quite a few years ago. Recently, the fellow that I sold it to was downsizing to a smaller home and he offered me this guitar back. I jumped at the chance to buy it back as it is just a beautiful, well-constructed, and sonorous instrument in near perfect condition. I can't find information as to the year of manufacture. Not sure that matters as Yairi handmade guitars are consistent in their high quality and superior tonality. This instrument has a solid cedar top, solid rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck topped with an ebony fretboard. The headstock facing is rosewood and the tuners are gold with pearloid buttons. Real bone is used for the nut and saddle. It's the real deal. A wonderful concert classical instrument. $995 with case
Ramirez 1E- This 1E is from the Ramirez Estudio line of guitars. This is not a handmade 1a, but is a factoory made 1E. Yet, it carries the Ramirez name, which is synonymous with the best that Spanish luthery has to offer. Above, you saw a 4E. If you didn't read the label closely, you might mistake this for a 4E. This 2004 instrument is made up with a solid red cedar top, solid Afican mahogany back and sides, an ebony fretboard, beautiful binding and a nice carved multi-colored rosette. Plays out wonderfully. It is in very good condition, except that the finish on the back and sides has become a bit cloudy. For that reson, I am asking a reduced price for this guitar . With a Humicase, it is being offered for $750
